Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic, including page views, referrers, device type, browser, broad region, and site interactions. These signals help improve content and site structure.

Google tag may process cookies, IP addresses, device information, or online identifiers. Plant Note does not intentionally upload names, email addresses, phone numbers, or precise addresses to Google Analytics 4.

Cookies and your choices

Google Analytics 4 may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not limit access to the site's main content and functions.

Cloudflare services

The site uses Cloudflare for domain, content delivery, security, and performance services. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser or device information, request times, and page-performance data to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and measure performance. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or localStorage.

Advertising, cookies, and similar technologies

Plant Note may use Google AdSense in the future, but it does not currently display ads. Some pages may load AdSense code so Google can verify the site and provide privacy messages where applicable.

If advertising is enabled, third-party vendors and ad networks, including Google, may place and read cookies in your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and other identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site. Information may be collected, processed, and shared with Google and other participating advertising providers to select and deliver ads, personalize ads where permitted, limit how often an ad is shown, measure performance, produce aggregate reports, detect fraud and abuse, and maintain security.

Google and its advertising partners may use information from your prior visits to Plant Note or other websites to serve ads that may be more relevant to you, subject to applicable law and your consent or other privacy choices.

You can manage how Google personalizes ads in My Ad Center. You can also block or clear cookies through your browser. Depending on your region, existing choices, and service configuration, a consent message may offer additional controls. Choosing non-personalized ads or blocking advertising cookies does not restrict access to Plant Note's main content.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics and advertising consent states default to denied until a valid choice is available. Once the service is configured to meet applicable requirements, a Google-certified consent interface can let visitors consent, refuse, or manage their choices. Whether it appears also depends on the visitor's location and existing consent status.

Contact and feedback

If you contact the site by email, your message, email address, and reply history may be retained to handle the issue, content feedback, or site maintenance. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information.

How data is used

Analytics and contact data are used to improve plant science content, site structure, reading experience, and maintenance. They are not used for personal identification, individual diagnosis, or high-risk decision-making.

Updates

If Plant Note later adds sponsorship, affiliate links, comments, memberships, or other third-party services, this policy will be updated to reflect the actual features.
